Three new retail stores have opened in Maysville. While empty store fronts in small towns has become a common sight, the opening of new retail businesses is both exciting and welcomed in our area.
On the square in Maysville you can shop at Bolin’s Christmas Store in the historic hotel building. This shop is owned by Becky Boyles and Penny Linley, and is located at the corner of Hwy 6 and Polk St. They have new, trendy and beautiful decorations for the holiday season. Their hours are Thurs-Sat, 9-5.
PACA has their new store front opened on the NE corner of the square in the historic Theatre Anne building. Their products consists of hand made art and crafts by local artists. They are also a service resource center with information on services available in DeKalb County. They are open Tues-Fri, 11-5, and Sat 9-12.
Just a short 3 1/2 mile drive east of Maysville will take you to the new farm store at Faithful Acres Alpacas. Here you can visit the alpacas, learn about alpaca farming and shop for products made from the soft and warm alpaca fiber. You will also find hand made quilts, along with new and vintage items to decorate your home. The farm and shop is owned by Chet and Barbara Owen and is located at 1343 NE Hebron Rd. The farm store is open on Thurs 12-5, Fri 9-5, and Sat 9-12. Farm tours can be scheduled at other times by calling 816-457-0485.
